Waiting to be delivered to Brixton Yards
With the start of the day sunny and with not much cloud in the sky, our rack of rolling stock was waiting for the commencment of the delivery. Wayne Seed, one of our members, is the locomotive operator, with the help of Galvin Lashlie.
The media were on hand to gather information and photos, as with the local, 7 Taranaki, TV station, before rolling out from the Smart Road Yards New Plymouth.
When the train passed under the road over bridge by Lepperton, there are members from our Society, as with the media were busy doing their thing with their cameras. Once at Leperrton, the clearance was given by Train Control, we started down the branch to our Brixton yards. This is the first time in about ten years or so since there have been any traffic down the Branch. Once at Brixton there are more members waiting for the arrival of the delivery. Again the cameras were busy until the train was parked up for a while, until the Society gets it's operating licence.
